A FREE COMIC COURSE for 14-19 yr olds

In partnership with
Arts Council England,
The Cartoon Museum

with cartoonist Rachael Ball
An inspiring program of FREE comic workshops on the theme of ‘Power’ with graphic novelist and graphic novel tutor Rachael Ball.

This project provides a platform for participants to make comics on feelings of being POWERLESS or POWERFUL. A selection of the comics will be exhibited at the Cartoon Museum, Focus Cube space in 2023 alongside Rachael’s artwork for her graphic novel ‘The Patsy Papers. 

WHO CAN APPLY?

UK applicants of any gender, aged 14-19 years

FIRST STAGE OF THE PROGRAM

All successful applicants will be offered up to 8 hrs of comic workshops on:

Story-telling and scripting, character design and expression, storyboarding and layout.

SECOND STAGE OF THE PROGRAM- A SELECTION OF THE STUDENTS

will be invited to participate in:

A one-day masterclass at the Cartoon Museum,

An exhibition at the Cartoon Museum of my artwork from my graphic novel ‘The Patsy Papers’ and student work.

An online filmed student panel discussing the project.
